SUNDAY READINGS

--------------------------------------------
Questions on Sunday's Readings for use by discussion groups,
prayer groups, or for individual prayer.
--------------------------------------------

First Reading
Numbers, Chapter 21, Verses 4b-9

1. How does Moses holding up the serpent parallel Jesus being lifted up?

2. The snake was the curse and the cure. Can the things that are hardest in your life be the vehicles that bring you closest to God?

Second Reading
Philippians, Chapter 2, Verses 6-11

1. This reading says Jesus did not seek equality with God. Do you think people seek equality with God, even subconsciously? How are you with it?

2. Do you think the People of God look more like Christ in his poverty, humility and emptiness in some countries or places than in others? Explain

Gospel
John, Chapter 3, Verses 13-17

1. Nicodemus had to take a risk in going to meet Jesus. How did it turn out for him? Are you willing to take risks in your life?

2. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son” Could it be that the Father and the Holy Spirit were with Jesus every minute of his life and death? Are they with us the same way?
